Union thugs show their ugly faces in Atlanta

Posted on February 28, 2011 by Bridget Casey // Hillbuzz, Hillbuzz TV, Multimedia, The Left, Unions

This video was shot yesterday in downtown Atlanta.  It was a clash between Tea Partiers and Goonion thugs (thanks for the new word zillaoftheresistance).  Aren’t those union people so classy?  I just love it when someone gives me the finger.

I’m so glad that my tax money goes to pay their salary.

Has this happened yet in the US?  I haven’t heard any reports of it.  Is this what’s coming to our country?  I pray that we can stop it  in it’s tracks.  These people are outrageous.

They are the face of Satan.

Pure evil.

Hundreds of young Muslim girls fear honor killings

Posted on February 27, 2011 by Bridget Casey // CAIR Bears, Essays - Islam, Hillbuzz

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=zxDC4c8n9oM]

This is so sad to me.  There must be thousands of Muslim girls around the world who are trapped in their barbaric Islamic culture.  Girls whose  parents move them to the West for a better life yet expect them to adhere to the backward ways of their old country.  What did they think would happen when their young daughters got a little taste of the freedom?

How many organizations are out there that can help the girls who want to escape?

Not enough.

Socialized medicine? The fight for Baby Joseph.

Posted on February 26, 2011 by Bridget Casey // Domestic Policy, Hillbuzz, ObamaCare, White House Policy

Moe Maraachi and Baby Joseph

This is a story about  baby Joseph Maraachi.  He is a 13 month old Canadian boy who was born with a life threatening genetic disorder.  He has been fighting for his life in a hospital in Ontario but the doctors have given him no chance to live so they want to remove his breathing tube so he can die.  His parents are requesting that the doctors perform a tracheotomy so they can take him home to die.  The hospital refused so the issue went to the courts and they ruled in the hospitals favor.  Still…the parents refused to sign the consent to remove the breathing tube so they’re at a stand-off.

Here’s more of the story…

LONDON, Ontario, February 17, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – One-year-old Joseph Maraachli of Windsor, Ontario will have his life support removed Monday at 10 am. after the Ontario Superior Court today rejected an appeal by the parents to bring him home where he can die under their care.

A leading anti-euthanasia advocate says the decision facilitates a system where doctors are authorized to force life and death decisions on patients, warning that this is, in fact, far worse than the “death panels” recently debated in the U.S. as part of the federal health care law.

“Monday at 10 am they will kill my baby,” Moe Maraachli, Joseph’s father, told LifeSiteNews shortly after the ruling.  “There’s no more humanity.  There’s no more chance.  I’ve tried everything for him.  No more appeals, nothing.”

“I asked them: why not send him to Windsor and let him die at home?” he continued.  “They said they will give him injection, but I don’t want to.”

“I ask God, and maybe he breathe,” he added.

Joseph was taken to Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario in October where he was diagnosed with severe neurological issues. Doctors gave him no chance of recovery.  Moe and his wife Sana have asked doctors to perform a tracheotomy so that they could take Joseph home, but the doctors refused, saying the procedure was too risky.

The Maraachlis’ daughter died from similar complications eight years ago, but in that case doctors performed a tracheotomy and she was able to die at home.  Joseph’s parents want the same for him.

But in January, the Consent and Capacity Board of Ontario sided with the hospital, and a date for removing Joseph’s respirator was set.  The family was able to hold it off by filing an appeal with the Superior Court.

Today, Superior Court Justice Helen Rady also sided with the hospital, saying that Joseph is in a permanent vegetative state with no brain stem reflex.  She called it “a sad and difficult case,” according to the London Free Press, and ordered the hospital to allow the parents until Monday at 10 am. “to afford the family adequate time to say their goodbyes.”

Alex Schadenberg, executive director of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, who has been communicating with the parents, emphasized that they aren’t pushing for extraordinary treatment, just asking to care for their dying child at home.  “They’re arguing that the best way to do that is by doing a tracheotomy so the child can somewhat breathe on his own and care for him while he’s dying,” he explained.

“I don’t get it.  There’s nothing here that I get.  It makes no sense,” he said.  “What is in this for the hospital and the doctor?  Why would they bother doing this?”

“Is it that they want to simply say, we have control?” he asked.  “If it’s about their control, then we’re in serious trouble.  They now control when someone lives and when someone dies, and who makes those decisions, and how those decisions are made.”

Schadenberg said the court appears to be saying that hospitals and doctors can make decisions for patients whether they like it or not.  “It’s worse than the death panel concept that’s being debated in the US.  It really is, it’s much worse,” he said.  “They’re saying ‘we will decide’, they’re not even going to converse with you.  ‘We have the weight of the Court, we have the financial bearing of a massive government institution to be able to force this on you.’”

“That has serious repercussions, because you simply cannot trust the moral authority of the health care institution or the doctors,” he added.

“It’s the hospitals and the doctors once again usurping their power over the people,” he said.  “That’s what’s happening.  And they have significant power – they have the money and the courts behind them.  It’s absolutely ridiculous.”

Jim Hughes, national president of Campaign Life Coalition, Canada’s leading pro-life organization, called the situation “appalling.”  “I don’t understand it.  Do doctors’ rights now trump parental rights?” he asked.  “And what about the right of the child to die in the loving arms of his parents at home?”

Is this what is known as a “death panel”?

Why wouldn’t the hospital let the parents take him home to die?

John McCain ranked as most conservative senator? Really?

Posted on February 26, 2011 by Bridget Casey // Cocktail Party, Hillbuzz, The Soggy Sandwich Society

Senator John McCain

According to the National Journal, John McCain is one of the most conservative senators in the senate.

The politician who once best exemplified the idea of a “maverick” independent has shifted so far to the right that he is now tied for the title of the Senate’s most conservative member, according to National Journal’s 2010 vote ratings.

According to a comprehensive examination of 96 Senate votes taken in 2010, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., along with seven of his colleagues, voted most often on the conservative side. His 89.7 composite conservative score ties him with stalwarts like Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., and gives him a more conservative score than Sens. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., and Jeff Sessions, R-Ala.

McCain’s shift is emblematic of the Republican Party’s shift rightward and of the profound changes that NJ’s latest Vote Ratings reveal in Congress. A detailed analysis, including an interactive chart that will allow readers to examine and manipulate the data, will be available tomorrow.

In the early part of this decade, McCain was far closer to the ideological middle of the chamber. From 2002 to 2006, he bounced between the 44th- and 49th-most conservative member, giving him the maverick title. His 89.7 composite conservative score is the farthest to the right of any year he has served in the Senate. In past National Journal vote ratings, McCain has come close only once–in 1994, his 89.2 composite conservative score made him the eighth-most conservative member of the Senate.

When McCain began preparing for a presidential bid in 2006, he was the 46th-most conservative member of the Senate (because he was on the campaign trail, McCain missed too many votes in 2007 and 2008 to be given a rating). Then-Sen. Barack Obama, meanwhile, began his campaign at the far left end of the political spectrum. National Journal ranked Obama the Senate’s most liberal member in 2007, a year when he was launching his 2008 presidential bid.

Because he was a senator known for working across the aisle with liberal Democratic senators such as the late Edward Kennedy and the recently defeated Russ Feingold, there was some speculation that McCain, after losing to Obama in 2008, might become a key ally for the new president. Instead, McCain became one of Obama’s fiercest critics, more likely to be standing alongside Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., (a one-time adversary of McCain on campaign finance) than with any Democrat.

McCain’s conversion from Senate centrist to one of the chamber’s most conservative members came in a year that brought him a tough primary challenge from former Rep. J.D. Hayworth. Hayworth zeroed in on McCain’s advocacy of campaign finance reform and comprehensive immigration reform to portray him as too moderate for Arizona Republicans. McCain moved right on immigration and said little about campaign finance in a year when his party benefited from a huge influx of funds from donors who took advantage of a loophole in the tax code to make campaign contributions without disclosing their identity.

Though McCain’s latest NJ ranking is a stark contrast with his past record, the senator’s spokeswoman, Brooke Buchanan, said his ideology has not changed. “But I can assure you,” she added, “the legislative agenda in the Senate sure has.”

The 10 most conservative members of the Senate include:

RANK/NAME CCS*
1. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) 89.7
1. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) 89.7
1. John Cornyn (R-Texas) 89.7
1. Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) 89.7
1. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) 89.7
1. John McCain (R-Ariz.) 89.7
1. Jim Risch (R-Idaho) 89.7
1. John Thune (R-S.D.) 89.7
9. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) 87.3
10. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) 86.8

I guess it all depends on which way the wind is blowing.

Drill here…Drill now.

Posted on February 25, 2011 by Bridget Casey // Domestic Policy, Energy, Hillbuzz, White House Policy

Not too far from the truth.

 (h/t Moonbattery)

I drive a lot.  I was nearly floored when I filled up my car yesterday and it cost me almost $50.  That’s a huge jump from just a few months ago and I think it’s going to get worse.  Let’s face it….we almost all have to drive to get around.  I can’t ride a bike to work so I have to fill up my car about every 7-10 days.  That’s a lot of money.  I just read an article about the vast oil reserves in Alaska that would  not only help  solve most of our dependency on foreign oil but it would go a long way in creating new jobs and cutting a big chunk out of our deficit.

(CNSNews.com) – A new study says drilling on Alaska’s Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) could make Alaska the eighth largest oil resource province in the world — ahead of Nigeria, Libya, Russia and Norway.

The report — by the consulting firm Northern Economics and the University of Alaska-Anchorage’s Institute of Social and Economic Research – says that developing Alaska’s OCS could produce almost 10 billion barrels of oil and 15 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, create around 55,000 new jobs and produce $145 billion in new payroll nationally, generating a total of $193 billion in government revenue through the year 2057.

A senior policy advisor with the American Petroleum Institute, the trade group for hundreds of U.S. oil and gas producers, said in a statement about the study that offshore drilling for oil and natural gas can help with the country’s energy and economic needs.

“America will need all forms of energy to get our economy back on track, and that includes oil – we can either produce it here and create more American jobs or import it and create jobs elsewhere,” Richard Ranger said. “The administration and Congress need to adopt an ‘all of the above’ energy approach that leverages our offshore resources in Alaska to create an energy plan for America that boosts, rather than inhibits, our economy.”

About 77 percent of world oil reserves are owned or controlled by national governments and the U.S. currently imports over 60 percent of its crude oil, according to API. The Northern Economics-University of Alaska study estimates that Arctic offshore development could cut U.S. imports by about 9 percent over 35 years.

Crude oil prices in New York broke through the $100-a-barrel threshold on Thursday, with rising prices linked to the unrest in the Middle East, including Libya and its vast oil reserves.

The Washington Post reported on Thursday that U.S. pump prices for regular gasoline jumped 4 cents a gallon overnight to $3.23, an 8-cent-per-gallon increase in the past week and 55 cents more than a year ago.

“Given the current political turmoil in the Middle East and increased demand from a slowly growing economy, it is more essential now than ever before that we develop Alaska’s OCS to increase domestic production,” Ranger said. “Increased OCS production in Alaska would also extend the operating life of the 800-mile Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS), a critical lifeline of domestic energy for America.”

We’ll have to out-shout Greenpeace and the Sierra Club but this seems like a must-do.

Drill here…Drill now

We need to pick our battles.

Posted on February 25, 2011 by Bridget Casey // 2012 Elections, Hillbuzz, Tea Party

We can't have this attitude in 2012 and expect to win.

My mother has always told me to “pick my battles”.  When I was young, I had no clue what she meant but as I got older, I understood exactly and now I live by this mantra.  My post on the Georgia House bill yesterday caused a good bit of debate (which I knew it would).  Everyone has an opinion on abortion and this issue is one that can cause a huge rift and it’s one that no one will ever agree on 100 percent.  Some people jumped to the conclusion that I was pro-abortion and wanted things to stay status quo in the US  but I am most definitely not pro-abortion.   I didn’t mean to get into the issue of the 2012 campaign when I started that post but I just sort of went off topic and it ended up being mostly about the 2012 campaign….my mind wanders sometimes.

The point I was trying to make is that we need to pick our battles when we (by “we” I mean tea partiers, conservatives, independents etc) enter into the 2012 election.  The Tea Party has done a great job with their message.  It can be summed up into 2 words…less government.  Almost every issue we talk about during the campaign can be wrapped around those 2 words.  Less government can even be applied to the abortion issue by insisting on absolutely no federal funding for abortions and defund Planned Parenthood completely.  This would put a huge dent in abortions.  I would venture to say that most taxpaying voters would be happy with this platform.  We can’t have a hard-nosed rigid stance with this.  We can win small battles that will ultimately lead to the bigger victory.

We have a lot of things we need to fix right now and abortion isn’t one of them.  We have dug ourselves into a great big financial hole and it’s going to take years to get back out.  While we are trying to salvage our country financially,  those in the Islamic world who want to see us go down are plotting and scheming.  They smell the blood in the water.  We have to get back on our feet so that we can fight.

We will win the 2012 election if we continue with the same message we had for the 2010 election.   Less spending, less spending, less spending…period.   That should be our top priority.  The American people have had to tighten their belts and cut their budgets so they want to see the government do the same thing.

So, once again…here are the things that I would like to see our 2012 candidate tackle.

1. National debt

2. Job creation (in the private sector).

3. National security (this includes a plan for border security as well as fighting terrorism)

4. Energy independence ( by this I mean a plan to begin drilling for our own oil)

I want to see an actual plan.  Not just talk, talk, talk.  Kevin and I have talked about the fact that it would be a good move for the 2012 candidate to already have names of the people they plan to nominate to their cabinet.  I know this could be risky but it would also show the American people that they mean business and they are ready to get to work.  It would be as if we are electing a team that will take back Washington and save this country….sort of like superheroes.  I know this sounds corny but I like the idea.

What do you guys think?

Who would be the members of this team?

Miscarriages considered murder? They could be if you live in Georgia.

Posted on February 24, 2011 by Bridget Casey // Cocktail Party, Enabling the Left, General Stupidity, Hillbuzz

GA State Rep. Bobby Franklin

Neal Boortz ( Mr. Libertarian extraordinaire) was all over this subject on his radio show this morning.

Georgia State Representative Bobby Franklin (R-Marietta) just introduced a new bill to the legislature called HB 1.  This bill is basically an anti-abortion bill.  It is extremely rigid with almost no wiggle room and it’s causing the lefty loons to go berserk.  His bill defines the beginning of life as the moment of conception and any person who ends that life shall be guilty of murder….period.  Now…I am a very devout Catholic pro-life  gal and I think abortions are wrong  but I think this bill goes  too far.

For instance….Mr. Franklin wants all miscarriages to be investigated unless they occurred in the presence of a doctor.  So in other words, if you miscarry at home, you could be investigated and you would have to prove that you did nothing to cause that miscarriage.  If you took a sleeping pill or if you had a glass of wine then you would have to prove that neither of those things caused you to lose your baby…or you could be charged with murder.

That’s crazy.

This is the kind of political madness  that I am worried about in 2012.  I may be opening up a can of worms by saying this but…here goes….

In 2012, we (tea partiers, conservatives etc) have got to define who we are by defining what we want for our country and we have to prioritize.  Abortion is an important issue for a lot of people  but it will not be the downfall of this country.  We can not risk losing the independent vote by supporting bills like the Georgia HB 1.  Abortion has been around for a long time and there will be time to deal with it when the more dire matters are handled. We have to outline very precise goals that will put this country back on track.  Here are the things that would  be first and foremost on my  ”to do” list…

1. National debt reduction

2. Job creation…. private sector …NOT government

3. Terrorism and Islamic extremism

4. Border security and much stricter anti illegal immigration laws

5.  Drill Baby Drill

Of course, there are many other things that need to be done ( union extinction, for example) but abortion should not be a top priority.  Our tremendous debt is weakening us and it’s what will cause our demise  if we do not take care of it….immediately.  To put it bluntly…our demise could possibly usher in the reign of Islam.  As Abraham Lincoln so nobly put it…we are “the last best hope” of earth.   We can’t afford to kick the can down the road where our national debt is concerned but we can kick the can down the road with the abortion issue.

Save it for another day.

Oklahoma police officer taking a stand against Islamic political correctness

Posted on February 24, 2011 by Bridget Casey // CAIR Bears, Essays - Islam, Hillbuzz, Tea Party, The American Reistance

Captain Paul Fields

A police captain with the Tulsa police department has filed a federal law suit against the department for violating his first amendment rights.  Captain Paul Fields was asked to assign officers to attend a “Police Appreciation” event at a local mosque. When he refused to require officers to attend the event, he was reassigned to another department.  This story has some interesting implications and the outcome could set the stage for more fights against political correctness in the workplace.

(from FoxNews)

Tulsa: The Tulsa Police Deptartment is investigating a captain who refused an order to assign officers to attend an upcoming Islamic event because he said it would violate his religious beliefs.

Capt. Paul Fields was reassigned after he refused to order officers under his command to attend the Islamic Center of Tulsa’s Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, a spokesman for the department said.

“It is my opinion and that of my legal counsel that forcing me to enter a Mosque when it is not directly related to a police call for service is a violation of my Civil Rights,” Fields wrote in an internal police department memo obtained by Fox News.

“I have no problem with officers attending on a voluntary basis; however, I take exception to requiring officers to attend this event,” Fields wrote in an e-mail to his superior officer obtained by Fox News. “I believe this directive to be an unlawful order, as it is in direct conflict with my personal religious convictions.”

Tulsa Police Chief Chuck Jordan told FOX23-TV the event was about community relations, not religion.

“This was not religious,” he said. “I would never assign a police officer to participate in religious service,” he told the TV station. “This is about a group who bonded together because of their religion. We are not going there because they are Islamic. We are going there because they are Tulsa citizens.”

However, according to a promotional flyer, the Islamic event included not just food and entertainment, but “presentations” on “beliefs, human rights, and women.” They would also be able to watch a Muslim prayer service and take a tour of the mosque.

“It’s up to you,” the flyer stated.

Ibrahim Hooper, the spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, called the incident an example of “anti-Muslim bigotry.”

“It’s a symptom of the unfortunately rising level of anti-Muslim sentiment we have in our society,” Hooper said. “It sends a message of marginalization that somehow Muslims aren’t part of American society.”

Hooper said he was satisfied with the way the police department handled the matter but said the incident signals a bigger issue.

“When somebody feels empowered to say ‘I’m not going to take part in a community outreach event at a mosque because I basically don’t like Muslims,’ it’s all part of that rise in Islamophobia in our society,” he said.

Gary Allison, a professor at the University of Tulsa College of Law, said the case poses a dilemma.

“It is true that individuals have their own religious beliefs and that they come to their workplace with their own religious beliefs,” Allison said. “The question is, how far can an employer go to require people to go against their religious beliefs for something to do the job that they are supposed to do?”

It would be one thing if this mosque had planned only a social event with just food and socializing,  but they are planning a presentation on Muslim beliefs and even a prayer service.  Why do they always think we need to watch them pray?  Captain Fields is absolutely correct to refuse to require officers to attend this event.  It should be the officers choice.  They would never require officers to attend a Catholic or Jewish outreach event ….and you can bet that if there was  a Muslim police officer on the force,  he would not be required to attend any Christian or Jewish outing. I hope more people will stand up to this insane political correctness.

Go Captain Fields Go!

Arizona’s illegal immigrant crackdown

Posted on February 23, 2011 by Bridget Casey // Domestic Policy, Hillbuzz, Illegal Immigration, White House Policy

Does this sign boil your blood? It does mine.

I think I might move to Arizona.  If I lived in a very progressive state I would definitely move to Arizona.  They are once again leading the way…..leading the way back to the America that was strong and proud and free.  Since Ronald Reagan left office, it seems like we have become politically correct wimps…especially where illegal immigration was concerned.  Arizona is taking hold of the reins and they have made a right turn back to where we should be (or at least they are trying to).  The Arizona state legislature passed a sweeping bill that would severely limit the public housing and workplace benefits for illegals.  It would even deny citizenship for children of illegal parents.  Wow!  That’s big.

(from the AP)

PHOENIX (AP) — An Arizona legislative committee on Tuesday narrowly approved a sweeping bill that would target illegal immigrants in public housing, public benefits and the workplace. The Senate committee also approved a bill that would deny automatic citizenship to the children of illegal immigrants, a measure designed to set up a possible U.S. Supreme Court case on the issue.Republican state Sen. Russell Pearce, who authored Arizona’s controversial illegal immigration law last year that touched off a nationwide debate on whether states can enforce federal immigration laws, sponsored the latest measure.”If you’re in the country illegally, you don’t have a right to public benefits, period,” he said.

Passing the bill would place a “dark cloud over Arizona that will make SB1070 tame in comparison,” said Jaime Farrant of the Border Action Network, an advocacy group, referring to last year’s controversial law.The new sweeping measure, approved on a 7-6 vote, advances to the full Senate after a legal review and discussions by party caucuses. Democrats by themselves don’t have the votes to block Pearce’s bill. The measure toughens requirements for employers checking work eligibility of new hires, allowing for their business licenses to be suspended if they don’t use the federal E-Verify system. Workers caught using a false identity to get a job would face mandatory six-month jail sentences. It also requires schools to collect information on the legal status of students and report them to law enforcement if their parents don’t provide the necessary documents or the documents appear false. The bill also seeks a 30-day minimum jail sentence and the seizure of vehicles belonging to any illegal immigrant convicted of driving in the state. In housing, it requires public agencies to verify the immigration status of renters and to evict everyone living in a unit if one is found to be an illegal immigrant. For health care, the bill changes some of the document requirements for the state’s Medicaid program. The bill turns public officials into immigration officers and “launches an unprecedented attack on minorities and people of color,” Farrant said. But the chairman of the Appropriations Committee, Republican Sen. Andy Biggs, said the bill was a response “to economic and social costs that we face with the onslaught of illegal aliens in our state.”"We need to have the moral courage to deal with this issue when there is a vacuum at the federal,” he said. The bill drew vocal opposition from Democrats who said Pearce – the Senate’s president – isn’t focused on Republicans’ stated top priority: the economy.”This is totally the wrong time for the leader of our Senate to throw our state into another state of chaos,” said Democratic Sen. Paula Aboud of Tucson. The topic brought protesters to the state Capitol, where about a dozen uniformed police officers were stationed in and around the building. Police said four people were arrested and cited for disorderly conduct after disrupting a Democratic senator’s news conference about her bill stiffening penalties for a human smuggling crime.Sponsors of the automatic citizenship bill approved by the Senate panel hope it will prompt a court interpretation on an element of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees citizenship to people born in the country or who are “subject to the jurisdiction” of the U.S.Bill proponents said the amendment shouldn’t apply to the children of illegal immigrants because such families don’t owe sole allegiance to the U.S.An hours-long debate centered on whether the measure would save Arizona money by keeping children of illegal immigrants from potentially burdening the state with the costs of benefits that go to citizens.”Constantly I’m asked by my constituents, ‘Why is it that when illegal aliens sneak into this country their children are automatically citizens?’” said the bill’s Republican sponsor, Sen. Ron Gould of Lake Havasu City. But the leader of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce said lawmakers should focus their efforts on measures similar to the jobs bill they recently approved.”We believe this case is one which would not get very far, and we are very, very, concerned about the economic consequences of this measure,” said Glenn Hamer, the Chamber’s chief executive. An accompanying proposal was also approved by the committee that would establish an interstate compact that defines who is a U.S. citizen and asks states to issue separate birth certificates for those who are citizens and those who are designated as not citizens.Similar proposals defining who would get automatic citizenship have been introduced by lawmakers in Indiana, Mississippi, Texas, Oklahoma and South Dakota. Backers expect another dozen states will take up the issue this year. The committee also approved a bill to require hospitals to report to law enforcement any patients who lack valid health insurance and who cannot show they’re in the country legally. The bill originally barred non-emergency treatment without proof of legal status but was amended to only require reporting.Supporters said it still would help reduce health care costs and burdens on taxpayers. Critics said it could deter some people from seeking needed care.

The media will go nuts with this one.  They must be in a shark feeding frenzy with everything that’s going on in the US (not to mention the world).

Tunisia,Egypt,Libya,Bahrain….

Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana…..Arizona.

Arizona honor killer found guilty.

Posted on February 23, 2011 by Bridget Casey // CAIR Bears, Essays - Islam, Hillbuzz

Remember that monster in Arizona that ran over his daughter and another lady with a car in a parking lot in Arizona?  He did it because his daughter was too “Westernized”.  Well, a jury found him guilty of 2nd degree murder yesterday.

(from KTVK)

PHOENIX — A jury has found an Iraqi immigrant guilty of second-degree murder in the death of his daughter.

Faleh Hassan Almaleki, 50, was also found guilty of aggravated assault and two counts of leaving the scene of an accident.

The verdict was announced at approximately 3 p.m. Tuesday.

During the trial, prosecutors told jurors that Almaleki ran down Noor Almaleki, 20, with his Jeep Cherokee because she had brought the family dishonor by becoming too Westernized.

Noor Almaleki died after two weeks in a coma.

Almaleki’s Jeep also hit and seriously injured Amal Khalaf, the mother of Noor’s boyfriend.

Khalaf testified that Almaleki made no effort to stop before she and Noor were hit in a Peoria parking lot in October 2009.

Defense lawyers said Almaleki was trying to spit on Khalaf but swerved and ended up running down both women.

Almaleki chose not to testify in his trial.

Almaleki could face 40 years in prison.

Think this will send a message to the Muslim community that we won’t stand for that here in the US?

I pray that we can stand strong against Sharia law.

I hope you’re praying too.

Recall efforts are underway for AWOL Wisconsin Senators

Posted on February 22, 2011 by Bridget Casey // Alinsky Methods, Hillbuzz, Politicizing, Tea Party, The American Reistance, The Left

Robert Wirch (D-Pleasant Prairie)...hiding under a rock somewhere

A Wisconsin newspaper is reporting that residents are beginning to form committees to recall the senators who went missing this past week.  So far, not one of the senators has slithered home but I bet it won’t be long.  I would love to be at one of their town hall meeting when they finally have to face their constituents.  Yow!

One particular senator (Robert Wirch) had better wear a wig to disguise himself because, according to news reports,  the residents in his district are hopping mad.

BURLINGTON - Cheryl Herrick, 51, of Burlington, has a message for her “missing” state senator, Sen. Robert Wirch, D-Pleasant Prairie. “Come back and vote,” said Herrick, who works in retail. “Elections have consequences.”

Wirch, who represents Burlington and most of Kenosha County, is one of the 14 senate Democrats who fled Madison last week when the state Senate was scheduled to take a vote on Gov. Scott Walker’s proposal to essentially eliminate collective bargaining for public workers.

Wirch has not returned calls for comment for several days.

In downtown Burlington on Monday, the consensus among area residents selected at random was that Wirch should go back and vote. Many, including Herrick, said they would like to see Wirch recalled for avoiding his vote. By running away, he is not doing his job, said Kellie Kerkman, 39, of Burlington.

“All I see is this teaching our younger generation to run away from problems. It’s time to grow up,” said Kerkman, who owns Kerkman’s SplitEnds, a hair salon at 316 N Pine St.

Down the street, Carl Schultz, 61, of Twin Lakes, said Wirch should be fired for avoiding “his responsibility.”

He recalled firing a worker from his car part manufacturing business, Five Star Fabricating, for repeatedly missing work after receiving multiple warnings, he said.

“If they are hired to do a job, they should be there,” said Schultz, who feels that way about his employees and his state legislators.

And the possibility of a recall may become a reality.

Dan Hunt, 51, of Pleasant Prairie, where Wirch lives, is looking into forming a committee to recall the senator. So far he has 175 volunteers who have signed up to help circulate petitions to recall Wirch, he said as of Monday afternoon, but he said he would need about 300 volunteers to successfully launch a campaign. According to the Government Accountability Board he would need about 15,000 signatures for a recall election.

For now, Hunt said, he is waiting to see if Wirch goes back to vote.

“The longer he stays away, the greater the likelihood,” Hunt said of a recall effort

I say recall them all!

American Bar Association is fighting for Sharia law in the US

Posted on February 22, 2011 by Bridget Casey // CAIR Bears, Essays - Islam, Hillbuzz

(h/t Al Noor)

I’m dumbfounded by this one….although I have to consider that it is the ABA so I shouldn’t be surprised.  How on earth could the American Bar Association argue for something that so un-American?

(from American Thinker)

The American Bar Association (ABA) has decided to undertake the fight for Sharia law. The ABA’s Executive Counsel “has organized a Task Force to review the legislation of 14 states — Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wyoming — in which anti-Sharia legislation has been introduced.”

The goal of the ABA’s Task Force is to fight against these legislative initiatives by free people, and to develop “an informal set of ‘talking points’ that local opponents of these initiatives could use to make their case in each of these states.”
Here’s the relevant extract from the ABA’s International Policies 2010:

Oklahoma referendum related Rule of Law initiatives.

The Section’s Executive Counsel has organized a Task Force to review the legislation of 14 states — Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wyoming – in which anti-Sharia legislation has been introduced.  The goal of the Task Force is to have a Report and Recommendation against such legislation as well as an informal set of “talking points” that local opponents of these initiatives could use to make their case in each of these states.  We received a lot of interest from members and have forwarded your interest.  At this point, the task force is in the planning and organizing stage. We will keep you updated as to the progress and we may call upon some of you who expressed their interest in this matter to volunteer.

In reality, Islamic law is the most radical and intolerant system of governance on the face of the earth. It denies the freedom of speech, the freedom of conscience, and legal equality for women and non-Muslims. That’s why so many states are trying to ban it. The ABA should be on the forefront of this battle. The Oklahoma ban was brilliant but poorly worded (which is why a liberal judge found it so easy to overrule the will of the people) and had 70% of voters approving of it — it is clear that American people understand the Islamic threat to our constitutional republic.

Instead, our cultural warlords in the mainstream media, academia and entertainment strictly enforce the blasphemy laws of Islam, which command that one must not insult or slander Islam. In Muslim countries, blasphemy is punishable by death; in the West, it is your character that is assassinated if you dare to speak out against the Islamic supremacist agenda. Our last line of defense was always the rule of law. So it is particularly jarring and deeply disturbing to come upon this latest initiative from the ABA, the last line of defense against sharia creep.

Furthermore, the ABA’s “Middle East Law committee” has promoted Sharia finance for some time, with the same warmly positive slant.

Unfortunately, the ABA is not alone in this. In late January, New York State Senator Kevin Parker introduced a bill to set up an alternative bond market that would comply with Islamic law regarding financial transactions.

Has Kevin Parker ever heard of the separation of church and state, or in this case, mosque and state? I’ll be damned before my hard-earned taxpayer dollars go to zakat (jihad), or to the prohibition of pork, alcohol, and some forms of adult entertainment.

This is the financial jihad.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles City Council passed a resolution recently that decried “Islamophobia.”

The term “Islamophobia” itself is an enforcement of Islamic blasphemy laws. Islamic law commands that there be no candor about Islam or criticism of Islam. Any truthful statements about Islamic supremacism and violence are considered blasphemy. That’s why it is shocking that Los Angeles, which is just this side of Sodom and Gomorrah, is passing resolutions that accord with Islamic law. No one in America cares what and who you worship; just don’t force it upon us. I don’t care if you worship a stone, just don’t stone me with it. And stop telling us how many Muslims don’t commit jihadi acts. Of course they don’t. So what? I don’t believe in rewarding people for doing the right thing. I don’t believe in congratulating people for not committing acts of violence against people outside their religion.

Thus the Los Angeles City Council’s passage of this resolution opposing “Islamophobia” and repudiating violence against Muslims is a step back centuries into the dark ages. According to the FBI, “hate crime” against Muslims is at its lowest in a decade, but acts of jihad are accelerating at warp speed. Yet the Los Angeles City Council passes no resolutions against jihad, honor killings, misogyny, gender apartheid, Islamic antisemitism, kuffarophobia, etc.

Sharia is being imposed across state lines, across the country, by way of these varying initiatives. We must push back.

And the ABA has nothing to say about any of this; it is too busy fighting against anti-Sharia, pro-freedom laws. It is yet another terrible sign of a morally inverted world

I bet the ABA is getting paid a pretty penny to fight the anti Sharia initiatives.

Once again, I urge you to write your state representative about introducing anti Sharia initiatives.

We won’t go down without a fight.

Governor Scott Walker’s getting death threats on Twitter

Posted on February 22, 2011 by Bridget Casey // Climate of Hate, Hillbuzz, The Left, Unions

Don’t people ever learn?  I know that Governor Walker is getting hundreds of threats via email but putting them up on Twitter for the world to see is a little bold.  I bet that most of these threats are from kids who haven’t a clue as to what’s really going on in this world.  They are just spitting back out what they have heard from their progressive teachers.

Hey Wisconsin….this is who’s teaching your children…

Progressive Wisconsin teachers do not care about the kids

Homeschooling is always an option.
